This was a quilt made for a co-worker. I wanted to do something really special for her and I think it ended up beautiful. It was just a little late. I was so busy with wedding planning that this project fell by the wayside. She was already back from maternity leave by the time I was able to give it to her.
She had a teal and orange theme for the babies room and loved elephants. I wanted to make something tactile that the baby would like to touch and rub, so the elephants are actually made with a woven wool fabric…I probably could’ve gotten the same result with felt…but I literally just thought of that. 🙂
The back is a teal super cuddle soft fabric that was a bit of a bear to quilt with. It kept wanting to slip and slide everywhere under my presser foot. Again, this is another one I wish I had taken more photos of, but I didn’t think about it until after I had already given the quilt away. Luckily, my co-worker took a beautiful photo of the quilt in the baby’s room and sent it to me. Hope this inspires you to make something cuddly soft for your littles.
